| 291594 | 2004-11-14 03:47:00 | My mate has windows xp..service pack 1..prob is..she cant shut down normally she has too hold the power button in until it shuts down..not the best thing to do?? Recovery discs are made/tied into the machine they accompanied, so it is unlikey your recovery disc would work. Are you sure they dont have a hidden recovery partition on their hard drive? A lot of machines are sold like this now instead of supplying a physical recovery disc. |

| 291598 | 2004-11-17 01:11:00 | Hmmm....ah...maybe they did have a hidden back up sumwhere, managed to do a Non destructive recovery so it musta found files from somewhere with-out me havin' to use any discs.. She had HEAPS of BHO's an search assistants as well as Kazza and P2P stuff going on an i dont think she really knows wot she got here self in2, Plus Trojan Hunter an Avasst found baddies too!! Ran a few programs i have trusted and found Key loggers an stuff as well..GIANT anti-spy from Major Geeks found those..Just takes a little bit of reading to make 'em work like you want..Which i've found HEAPS of peoples's dont bother..and end up wif probs!..Anyway... Thanx for your input guys! :) |
