if i remember rightly it just wont boot up , you gete a nice message about how to buy a real copy.

292197 2004-11-15 02:33:00 Well, it should start warning you that you've got "30 days" before the trial version expires, and it counts down on each subsequent day. This popup, from memory, comes up when you login.

Once it's reached the deadline, I think it just informs you bluntly that the trial version has expired and either shuts down, or doesn't let you login.

But don't be fooled by it - rolling your system date back won't stop the popups, but it will stop the deadline effect (I learnt that from my own experience).

But the product ID is included in the info sent, and that hash key is derived from the CD Key which is tied to the product being a "Trial" package...
