| 292948 | 2004-11-17 02:31:00 | Sorry, you can. OE does not actually remove an item from a .dbx file when you delete a message. Instead it merely tags the item for removal at a later time, mainly when you next compact your folders. There are programs around that will recover deleted messages provided folders have not been compacted, one is DBXtract |

While displaying the Deleted Items folder in Outlook, select Tools/Recover Deleted Items... and you will see all recoverable messages. The retention time for these messages is controlled within the Exchange Server. Cheers Miami |

Do you know of any means of uncompacting the Folder/File ? This site is great, it seems to find someone who knows all about your specific problem Thanks all Gale |
