292703	2004-11-16 00:40:00	Hi there, I have this PC I can't seem to sell - nobody wants it even for $60. It's an AMD K6-2 350Mhz 128MB ram (well, only sees 64M because it's single sided) 3GB hard drive AT power supply and form factor Sound card and Network card 8X CD-ROM drive I guess if I can't sell it I will use it as a server for something perhaps, but what? On my main server I have 4 web sites, FTP, DNS, DHCP, IRC, WINS, Active Dir, Exchange E-mail... I think that's it. Nope thats not it. It serves as a file server, and also has RIS (Remote Installation Services) on it so I don't need a CD every time I format my PC. I could put in an extra 4Gb and 2Gb hard drive in it too. So, any ideas? Or anything else to use it for? Or anyone want to buy it? Cheers George	george12 (7)

Current community project is to source and install 4 comps into residential houses for special needs people,i have so far got my hands on a couple but could do with 2 more. No money involved,im providing my time and "expertise" to them free of charge but have run out of sacrificial comps to gift to them.	metla (154)

But I could never do something like that to a PC rather than donating it to such a worthy cause as Metla has suggested. How about this: Metla do you have any RAM? I would like the 128MB ram chip that it only sees 64M of anyway, but the rest of the PC is not worth a lot to me. With 128MB of ram it does actually run XP (amazingly) at quite a reasonable speed (although it has 98 ATM as I'm not wasting an XP license which is worth more than the PC!). So if you have a nice friendly PC66 or PC100 ram chip for it, I will most certainly consider donating it. Cheers	george12 (7)
292708	2004-11-16 01:02:00	Anything will do,as long as they can run W98 and have a cd drive,i have enough monitors and keyboards to cover whats needed. Nothing flash though,when i used the term sacrificial i meant it,They will wreck havoc on a system.I have one of the current systems with me at the moment,its an old Pentuim with 32mb of ram and a 14" monitor,it suits there needs perfectly I think over time they will be monitored on how the are indivially using the computers and it may be on the cards to maybe place one half decent system in their that the more proficientt ones can make use of. Thats long term anyway. The idea now is to get em some old junkers,and get them using them.	metla (154)
292709	2004-11-16 01:02:00	Something I forgot to mention, video card is AGP 8MB nVidea Vanta. It has faint horizontal lines that carry on from window's etc to the right of the screen, but works fine and is easily readable. My friend here has offered me $50 for it, but I am still considering donating it as this friend already has a perfectly good PIII. Cheers	george12 (7)

292712	2004-11-16 01:07:00	DAMMIT I had some absolutely perfect machines Metla! About 5 Pentium 166's, with 32MB of ram and 800MB - 2GB hard drives. I put them all on Trademe with $1 reserve, and not one bid on any of them, so I got rid of them! :_| I would gladly have donated the lot of them but nobody then seemed to want em. Anyway, I'm thinking... PS. Is anyone paying for shipping or would I?	george12 (7)
