293036 2004-11-18 06:41:00 It seems to be A great talent of the human kind, to block out the **** that is goin' on somewhere else, because it's not their problem according to themselve's. They close their eye's, when'ver there is something that they don't want to see. It seem's to me that their money's put their mind in a state of confusion, and to me it mean's their silence means they justify the pollution!!! Chicolio (6413)
293037 2004-11-18 06:54:00 We have so much to learn from each other!!!! So many different people!!!! So many different thought's!!!! Although We've had differences of opinion. I cannot judge you!!! Cannot understand What I do'not know!!! Chicolio (6413)
293038 2004-11-18 07:03:00 The meaning of life????

Why i thought the secret had leaked out......... FORTY-TWO!!!!!!

Less ultimately though, i can't help thinking that there is no global meaning of life. Just a collection of individual meanings.

For me it's all about setting up the next gig. I'm primarily a roady. The chance to work myself to the point where i may drop stacking up a ton or two of Sound and/or Lighting gear gives me a purpose. When it's one of those magic gigs, i feel the ecstatic sense of achievement in much the same way the actual performers might.

Others may see my purpose as an illusion, a waste of time, or just a big pointless waste of time. I've been told many a time by the negatively inclined that "life is not a rock and roll party",which is certainly true for those who take that viewpoint.

This only strengthens my point that THERE IS NO GLOBAL MEANING OF LIFE, just the personal forfillment of what we as individuals consider to be important for ourselves,
and of course the attitude that whatever we have, and make of our circumstances will be enjoyed.

Whoa...
Is this the right forum??????

293039 2004-11-18 07:15:00 WS put it thus:-

Life is but a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury; signifying nothing"

You've onto something there Chris .

I also adhere to the belief that our current system of delivering welfare sustenance of the moral/pc kind (rather than monetary) in our society is flawed . If a person is so inclined by either their character or circumstances they are almost encouraged to sit back and be served whatever is fashionable at the time . I see and here of so much apathy is frightening, it's easier to steal or cheat to get by, if things aren't quite right you beat someone, snort or pop something or top yourself .

The relative merits of suicide as an option can be argued in one, it's better in some situations than involuntary death . I know their are other situations where it happens but, that can usually be put down to poor care .

My meaning of life is personal, but not necessarily unique to me, and includes other lives . Sometimes I'm a bit out of sync with it, or it me, generally though, we're thereabouts .

293041 2004-11-18 08:45:00 So as not to get to carried away here is something to amuse.

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?!

293044 2004-11-18 08:57:00 Oh come on Tom - you just made that up ]:)

Besides, the Koran cannot be meaningfully translated. To be a Koranic scholar, you must read it in Arabic. Oh, and Blue = Green (apparently) ;)
