293551 2004-11-18 08:40:00 I need to prove our network drive is porn free.
I do a search using XP Pro Feature and get 60000 graphics. I try to view the thumbnails but it stalls and jams after viewing perhaps 10,000.
These are kids homedirectories, intranet and other school activities ...don't ask..
how can I prove the drive is porn free?
Any ideas

Thanks

Paul

293552 2004-11-18 08:45:00 Lockes after viewing an image? Is it always on a certain image? If so the image is most probably corrupted.

Do you mean that you have searched using the Search feature in XP, set to thumbnail view, and scrolled down checking the images as you go? And when you get to a certain number/certain one it locks up?

Does anything else make the PC lock up - is it new?

Or does it just get swamped by the thousands of images?

More info could help

293553 2004-11-18 08:50:00 lock up is probably not correct. it is just so slow that i think it could take days. I'm wondering if there are some tricks of the trade ..thanks

293554 2004-11-18 08:52:00 I don't think i have used a comp that could view 60 000 thumbnails without choking. metla (154)

293556 2004-11-18 08:53:00 So how do big networks prove they're porn free?

can they prove it?

293557 2004-11-18 08:54:00 I have had the same problem here with winxp when doing a search that contains more than about a thousand items. If I switch to another view (ie details) the search locks up and I am forced to "end task" from the task manager.

293558 2004-11-18 08:55:00 yup..we have border manager in action..but still google and dogpile will throw up inappropiate thumbnails for innocent searches paulbran (6421)
293559 2004-11-18 08:58:00 Refine your search locales so as to cut down on the results. metla (154)
