| 293174 | 2004-11-17 06:39:00 | OK, Jen. I have made the revised FAQ thread. But this is my 500th post... Better make a speech for it :D. Over the 11 months I have been a member of PressF1, things have changed a lot. But one thing that has remained throughout the time I have been here, is the great quality of plentiful information I gather every day from this forum. Every thread I make, I am greeted with a wealth of information in the quest to solve my problem, from any person from the 8000+ post Chill, to a new user. There have been flame wars, but still the ever-helpful community is ready to help when it is needed. When I first registered, I posted perhaps once every two or three weeks, only asking for those with more experience than me to help with the many problems I encountered. But slowly that changed. I decided that it would be better if I could put back in the help that I took from PressF1. So I began to help other users. This was still back in the 100's of post count. Slowly the frequency of my posts began to increase, from one or two per week, to 3 or 4 per day. Now, I find that for every question I ask I answer 4. Then there are people like Chill who probably answer 20 per day, and moderate at the same time! Of course, little did I know of this at the time. I actually thought Moderator was Bruce! I would like to say, Thank you Press F1. Probably 30% of my computer skill has come from this forum, and that is a significant amount. I would never (or perhaps 'might not') be running a business selling custom-made computers if it wasn't for the wealth of knowledge I have gained here. What is the point of this rant, you may ask? The answer is simple. To be my 500th post :D. [/rant] Was that random or what? :p Cheers George |

Goodness ninja! I'm not power hungry! It's just that I run the server, it being mine, so it is merely natural for me to be server op. If a responsible person such as Chill was online, I would happily pass my mod-ship on to him. But it's quite obvious: Bruce Buckman is a mod here - he works at IDG. I'm a mod on my IRC, I own the server. NZ_liam controls ChatF1 - he runs it. Do you really hate me? It's just that every post you've made related to me has been insulting. George |

You are known around here for your "mod wannabe" antics, if you go and re-read your original post there is sod all mention of what benefit the service will provide to the forum or anyone here . In fact the entire post damn bascially talks about how you will be mod/op/whatever . It's not personal, I'm an equal opportunity hater . |
