| 293773 | 2004-11-19 03:55:00 | I have Xtra 'broadband', and am running Norton AV and Zone alarm. No problems till 2 weeks ago, when I noticed emails in 'Xtramail' that had not come into my inbox in Outlook express. Querying the Xtra help desk brought the response that I should uninstall both Zone alarm and Norton NAV as well as any 'spy ware' programs such as Adaware as they were conflicting with my e-mail delivery. After reading constantly how important AV and firewall programs are I am reluctant to do this. Can anyone help me. I am not a 'Geek', but am very moderately experienced in Computer 'speak', so I would appreciate any replies being specific and in reasonably plain language. Regards, Charles |

If you're running XP I'd go and put service pack 2 on the computer - this includes a firewall that is better than zonealarm and won't conflict with OE, not to mention the numerous other enhancements it brings. Otherwise I'd change firewall. As for using your email address as your PF1 username... possibly not the brightest idea as far as spam goes... too late now though :( |
