294428 2004-11-21 01:11:00 I have a weird thing happening whenever I load the Press F1 page. Each time the page seems to fail to complete loading. On the task bar it says that it is either waiting for "acvsrv.mediaonenetnetwork" or 'transferring data from mediaonenetwork" or doubleclick. I wait for ages and it never seems to complete the tasks and the hour glass remains although I can work with the pages. Any ideas please? Smurf (506)

The reason why that happens is because the ads you see on press f1 come from those sites & some times there servers get a bit slow so the ads on here don’t completely finch loading

Hope this helps :)

294431 2004-11-21 06:45:00 Hi Smurf
Your problem seems to be very similar to mine, except that my screen consistently freezes .

See this thread

Maybe the reaction on my PC is more drastic because my OS is Windows ME !

294432 2004-11-21 06:50:00 Firefox.

Tools>options>web features>Tick show pictures for origination site only and see if it makes a difference.

Otherwise try the adblock extension.

294433 2004-11-21 07:20:00 Hi Metla
That was the first time I have been able to get into PressF1 using Firefox, for days, by following your advice. Thanks !!

By the way have been thinking for a week and will now voice my opinion
- "I would buy a computer from you"
cheers
Misty :)

294434 2004-11-21 07:21:00 PS - would be interested to know how Smurf gets on by trying this ! Misty (368)
294435 2004-11-21 19:01:00 Thank you to all who replied to this thread. The problem was solved ultimately by Metla's suggestion of using adblock and identifying the offending ads.
Misty..hope this clues you in on how it worked for me.
