2004-11-21 08:53:00 | Yes I did thanks Stan. For some reason I only got joy when I uninstalled AVG though. Pity cos it was a great prgram. | Fiwi (6429) | |
2004-11-21 20:43:00 | The new version of AVG has been giving me a bit of grief with some emails as well, specifically emails that I reply to . Not all but some will refuse to go through with AVG complaining that they have timed out . I am running Eudora for emails and Outpost firewall - no Zonealarm anywhere near my PC . The only solution to my problem is to start a new email and copy/paste the contents of the affected email I want to reply to . I started to use R2's recommendation regarding adding my pop3 and smtp details to the email scanner properties but since I have three different ones I hesitate to add them all in case it really screws things up .

2004-11-21 21:03:00 | Thanks Stan, I will run through those instructions and see what happens. Strange that Eudora is not in their list of email programs but Pegasus Mail is. Not to worry, I can figure out what should be what.

2004-11-22 00:35:00 | The other trick with setting up the email to to ensure your POP3 port matches ... AVG defauts to port 5110 whereas mine (per ISP profile) is 110. So I changed it and it worked fine. HIH

2004-11-22 00:59:00 | I am running AVG 6.0 and the uptdater tells me that it is up to date????!!!! But you are all talking about AVG7.0, how come I am missing out? | theotherone (1421) | |
2004-11-22 01:07:00 | How often the "new improved" versions aren't. ACDSee comes to mind as well. No one appeared to have any problems with V6.0. When talking to my ISP help desk, they, in the past recommended AVG. They are not overly wrapped with the new one and it's problems. Bye

2004-11-22 01:09:00 | Why we are changing to V7.0, is that V6.0 will not be supported after the end of December. You are OK till then with updates. Bye
