| 294448 | 2004-11-21 01:55:00 | I downloaded one of those 1080i HD Windows Media Files to try out... Excellent video quality but no audio playback unfortunately. I have the necessary specs and experience no video playback lag. I also have a SB Audigy DE with latest drivers and WMP 10. I have no problems playing DVDs/DivX files in full Dolby Digital 5.1 and can play multi-channel WAV files also. The problem seems to lie with the decoding of WMA 48kHz/24bit multi-channel audio as I have the same problem with a standalone WMA audio file of similar spec. Any ideas? |

| 294449 | 2004-11-21 02:05:00 | The audio compression used is: Windows Media Audio 9 Professional 384 kbps, 48 kHz, 5.1 channel 24 bit (A/V) 1-pass CBR WMP should be able to decode this natively... grr :( |

| 294452 | 2004-11-22 04:09:00 | Nevermind > solved issue... You have to feed the audio to the DirectSound device and not directly to the soundcard - didn't think it would make any difference... oh well :) |
