i am trying to install a cpu into the m/b, but i can't see any markings on the board to make sure i have the cpu the right way round.....apparently it only fits one way....but ....mine seems to fit all ways!!!!

have to start work in a few hours and would like to get it done b4 then .... hopefully someone out there can help....

athlon64 3000+ with dfi UT nf3 mobo

294734 2004-11-22 01:51:00 yeh i checked that site before but these applied to sockets other than 64...but its the markings on the mobo i'm after not so much the cpu

metla.....i'm a woman so thats the first thing we do!!!

anyone else help???

294735 2004-11-22 01:56:00 The socket on the mobo will have 2 tiny barely viewable triangles on 2 of the corners that line up with the 2 gold triangles on the cpu.

If memory serves me right....Its been a couple of days since i installed one....

294737 2004-11-22 02:24:00 Look at the motherboard with the external connectors facing away from you and the CPU lever on the right hand side of the CPU. the gold mark on the CPU must be in the lower laft hand corner. Spout (6433)
294738 2004-11-22 02:31:00 thanks spout....thats the way i had it......also, had friend come over with her laptop and was able to view the driver cd which had a full blown manual on it...not much use without access to cdrom tho...
