| 294901 | 2004-11-22 23:09:00 | >> Now that's a damn good answer Powa! > I agree! Wish he'd just state a price though coz I'm interested in one myself lol, I don't know what price to put on it. I'm keen to sell it so I can buy an X800 to drive my LCD which has a big screen size. I made a trademe auction (www.trademe.co.nz) that finished a few days ago without hitting the reserve. That price is a bit crazy, so umm I don't know. Look at this page (www.pricespy.co.nz) and find a sapphire or something equivalent for new. Then consider it second hand, and negotiate with me. ;) |

| 294902 | 2004-11-22 23:15:00 | Dont Sapphire make the BBA cards? Thus making it no better than Gexcube/Sapphire/Powercolour? Anyway irrelivant of how much you payed for it or think its worth its still only a 9800PRO and performs like every other 9800PRO out there. You can rattle on about quality until the cows come home but in todays market there are very few sub standard video cards, if its not DOA then the likelyhood of having problems is very slim. Its possible to get a good quality 9800PRO for around $400, if i was you PoWa i would have taken the guy from Tardme's money and ran away laughing. Any buyer with half a clue wouldnt give you more than $250 for that card. | Pete O'Neil (250) | ||

| 294905 | 2004-11-23 00:20:00 | Look for a R360 cored one if you want value for money - if your lucky you will be able to overclock it to a 9800XT standard (with half the DDR though). | HadO (796) | ||

Most R350 cores overclock to higher than XT speeds without any trouble with some good cooling. With the R360 core 9800 pros you're not exactly guaranteed R360 speeds unless you've got some aftermarket cooling. Look at the size of the cooler on the 9800xts, they are a lot bigger than the 9800 pro ones. The 9800pros with R360 cores don't have good enough cooling, the're only designed to run at R350 speeds. |
