294944 2004-11-22 07:57:00 I have an IBM Thinkpad 570E with a 2Gig C drive which is close to full. I have tired all the things I can think of to free up space in C but have run out of options.

There must be somebody out there with some super cool ideas on how to get some more stuffing out of the C drive.

All suggestions appreciated.

Dave

294946 2004-11-22 08:14:00 All the non system stuff is on D whre I have almost 20 Gig free! PJKing (2630)
294947 2004-11-22 08:20:00 Depending upon the OS, you can remove unwanted default components of Windows. Take a look under Add/Remove > Window Components. Jen C (20)
294948 2004-11-22 08:20:00 have you considered formating and starting on the 20gig drive? Prescott (11)
294949 2004-11-22 08:43:00 I did not think that that was possible......perhaps it is?! PJKing (2630)
294950 2004-11-22 08:47:00 just back up your important data, and reformat but then only save/install your software to that 20gig hdd

294951 2004-11-22 08:53:00 The partition is hard wired. But won't the OS (Win2K) look for the boot programs in C? PJKing (2630)
294952 2004-11-22 08:58:00 oh its a partion :p

im not too sure but can you just wipe both of them and install the os on d?

294953 2004-11-22 09:00:00 Yep, it is a hard wired partition that cannot be moved! PJKing (2630)
