| 295542 | 2004-11-23 23:33:00 | Just starting venturing into the world of Torrents and was wondering if anybody could recommend a good client. I'm currently using Azureus 2.2.0.0... Upon inspection it looks like a lot of people are using BitComet... Also - what does the Tracker do? |

I'm not a hardcore/experienced bittorrent user so cant say if the features and options are all avaliable but so far so good. | 295544 | 2004-11-23 23:50:00 | Im a interested in the "Tracker" component - using a firewall to block access to all unrequired programs results in the tracker no working properly... it doesn't seem to have any effect on bandwidth though... hmm... |

| 295545 | 2004-11-24 00:37:00 | Azureus kicks ass. The tracker is the site you got the torrent from. It tells you who else has the data available to download from, tells other people they can download bits from you and monitors your upload etc to log your upload/download ratio. It basically "tracks" the torrent. Some trackers will ban you if you don't upload to a certain ration (if you're a leeching bastard basically). |
