295323 2004-11-23 05:07:00 Ok I'm not sure if anyone else has seen it but there is a video window popping up on the PressF1 site. Have a look here (sal.neoburn.net).

Does everyone get this, I've never seen it before... how do I get rid of it, it's bloody annoying.

cheers

295324 2004-11-23 05:40:00 It seems to do it with me (on Firefox). Is it targeted advertising of some sort (PressF1 installing spyware and adware on our computer???) somebody (208)
295325 2004-11-23 05:43:00 Haven't seen the Video myself, But I don't agree with them, the only way they rate is by annoyance. metla (154)
295326 2004-11-23 05:45:00 im on firefox and there is no sign of it... lagbort (5041)
295327 2004-11-23 05:48:00 I know these. They are NOT from any sites but are caused by spyware. They can appear to 'attach' themselves to a site, and show when you go to that site.

Run Spybot, it got it for me.

Cheers George

Yep, it is a thing called flash video, where you can put video in to flash & you make a flash movie.

In a nutshell that is how it is done

Now I know why flash has been starting to get a bad name, all Thanks to ad companies!

295331 2004-11-23 19:12:00 I ran spybot last night and it didn't pick up anything. However, it seems to have stopped so I'll wait and see. somebody (208)
295332 2004-11-23 21:08:00 Hello F1ers,

This is not spyware/adware, its a tag that we have implemented on all IDG sites that runs a small TV type advert. It should only run once, and set a cookie to not run it again - and apparently runs on time slots, rather than continuously like banner ads.
You may have noticed Stuff also have these tags on their site.

See this Computerworld article (idg.co.nz) for more info about the MediaOne Network.
