295389 2004-11-23 10:38:00 I uninstalled AVG 7 and took a few refs out of the Registry. Reinstalled and so far the problem is gone. Now maybe tomorrow morning .......

I was getting to the point of considering Avast ...

295392 2004-11-23 20:02:00 I reinstalled - custom - minus the Email scanner, and now OK. Never had a virus via Email anyway - never had a virus either. Must be one of the lucky, or carefull ones.

295393 2004-11-24 20:01:00 Hi Peter H.......been watching this avg thing for a while. Like everyone I have had no worries with AVG6. Is it AVG7 or Avast that you reinstalled-custom - without email scanner.
Cheers

295394 2004-11-24 20:51:00 I re-installed AVG 7.0. It gives an option for a Custom install. I used this, and unticked Email & Boot scan. I'm normally pretty careful with mail anyway. Also using W98se, I don't feel as vulnerable.
