295503 2004-11-23 21:02:00 Out of curiosity I downloaded a diagnostic tool which scanned relevant files and came up with 7 major errors . I saved them and uninstalled the tool . Why, because in order to 'one-click' fix it was $30 for 7 days! I got to thinking if they have identified the files, what would they do to fix them, Delete 'em? Any ideas . see list below . Pete

295504 2004-11-23 21:12:00 Yer I guess so . Delete them . Since it says theyre invalid . Not much use having the entries if they do nothing .

http://www . ccleaner would do the same thing as well as clean rubbish off your hdd, and its free :D

BUT up to you I guess if you want to delete them . If you're having no probs now with anything, I wouldnt worry about it .

Some programs maybe good, some arent and can make things worse .

295505 2004-11-23 21:12:00 Why mess around, when there are free registry cleaners out there such as Regcleaner (www.majorgeeks.com) and even Ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) has that facility. Pheonix (280)
295506 2004-11-23 21:13:00 oops that should be http://www.ccleaner.com Spacemannz (808)
295507 2004-11-23 21:13:00 "major error" is an overtstatement. CCleaner is a freeware tool that probably does a similar job with more support. PaulD (232)
295508 2004-11-23 21:22:00 I should have added that I have Reg Cleaner and Reg mechanic also. Whether they pick up on them I don't know as I ran a scan on both earlier. perhaps i should scan again and see what difference if any it makes. Seems strange that any one should pay so much if a cheaper programme can do the same? Ah well. Thanks anyway. Pete dinerouk (4690)
295509 2004-11-23 21:47:00 have a search through for comments about regcleaners.

i prefer toniarts easycleaner for a free one and jv16 power tools for a paid one.

the risk you take with old tools (and poorly developed ones) is it can delete reg entries that are rquired by a program.
