1375134 2014-05-17 04:59:00 Hi all,
Folder Options > File Types in XP shows a list of registered file types and would allow the default icon for a file type to be changed/added. How can I do this in Win7?

Thanks a lot.

1375137 2014-05-17 05:25:00 Thanks Speedy G and wainuitech. I just downloaded FileTypesManager but Default Programs is just the caper.

PS: Default Programs won't let me assign an icon. FileTypesManager will.

1375138 2014-05-17 05:37:00 Umm you can go into whatever folder / select the file / right mouse on it. Then change its icon Speedy Gonzales (78)
1375139 2014-05-17 05:44:00 This will do it, its almost identical to XP, just tried it: izt.name

Thanks wainuitech - exactly right :) I use an extension for Firefox called MAFF that enables me to faithfully save web page content such as tutorials in a compressed single page form. I probably have close to 500 of these but they all have the firefox icon. To differentiate MAFF files I created an icon for them and wanted to apply it to the whole group at once.
