1374931 2014-05-14 02:01:00 The RMA of my Cooler Master EVO 212 is having delays and they offered a refund . So which fan do you suggest, under $70 if you can . I am also in Wellington, so please note transport costs if charged .

Just running a Asus P5Q with a Intel 2 . 33 Quad @ stock speeds .

Cheers .

1374932 2014-05-14 02:10:00 Buy another 212 elsewhere? Tbh if you're running stock speeds the generic intel cooler is fine. icow (15313)
1374933 2014-05-14 02:14:00 I was told the 212 is EOL which means end of life if I am right and they might have 1 last one. The RMA is tied up at the supplier. Just wanted it bit quieter. I had the original cooler for first 4yrs, PC is now 5.5yrs old. The plastic punch down clips went loose ... hence I updated. Nomad (952)
1374934 2014-05-14 03:09:00 Do you still have the 212 or is it off being replaced? you could just put any standard 120mm fan on it and continue using it. Pick a quiet one as I don't think you need much airflow for your CPU on that cooler. Also I'm pretty sure it's a current product, at least I know it's still available retail www.pbtech.co.nz

Perhaps yours is the older non-evo one which looks exactly the same. I think the only real difference is the mounting options and perhaps the model of fan supplied with it.
Or is there another evo 212 I'm confusing it with?

1374935 2014-05-14 03:12:00 Here's a cheap alternative www.pbtech.co.nz
Looks smaller and has an 8cm FAN but it should be sufficient

1374936 2014-05-14 03:39:00 Cheers I'll have a look at that link .

My fan has been sent away, no ETA from the supplier is what I got from the store I bought it from . Might get something cheaper maybe this PC is 5 . 5yrs old anyway and should get an update in the next few yrs and I don't overclock .

My receipt says EVO . . .

Think you're right. There is the Hyper 212 and the Hyper 212+ which are both discontinued, the Hyper 212 EVO is the successor and Isn't listed as discontinued on the CoolerMaster website. All three coolers are very similar.

I was told the 212 is EOL which means end of life if I am right and they might have 1 last one.

Are you sure you have the 212 EVO? I would have a hard time believing the Cooler Master would discontinue what is probably the most popular aftermarket cooler available without immediately replacing it. Try picking another retailer: pricespy.co.nz

If you want to reduce noise consider replacing the fan with a quieter one (better bearings, lower RPM etc). If you are able to get your old unit back or still have it this will probably be cheaper than buying another cooler.

1374938 2014-05-14 03:42:00 I don't recall what was printed on the fan - but the receipt says EVO. Nomad (952)
1374939 2014-05-14 03:45:00 Maybe whoever you purchased it from no longer has access to a supplier? Seems odd that they would say it's end of line. icow (15313)
1374940 2014-05-14 06:48:00 I got the $26 one now .

I cannot install the RAM in the yellow slots due to the CPU cooler's metal clip . Is the yellow slots just for overclocking? Nor can I rotate it the other way because the motherboard has these yellow wings .
