1374603 2014-05-10 04:03:00 So I keep finding references to this hitherto unknown-to-me browser in this forum.
All the reviews I read are good. I was one of the first to switch to Chrome when it came out. So, while I am in an upgrading mind frame, is it time to consider giving Iron a go?
I will be running Windows 8.
Something to ponder while I am at work for the next couple of days.

1374604 2014-05-10 04:09:00 Use it on all the computers now. :)

The only thing you have to be wary of is when you install it, it will have duck duck go as a home/search page, and it used to have an advert saying you won ( something) but its harmless, just change the home page and search to what you want - same as Chrome in operation. Iron just seems better. Download from HERE (www.srware.net) - under Download Installer:

1374605 2014-05-10 04:28:00 duck duck go

It was more like Duck Duck Bang for me last weekend ... bloody tasty they are too

And yes ... I have tried Iron and find it pretty good, although I haven't changed over completely yet ... one day I'll get around to it, but good things take time ....

1374606 2014-05-10 04:32:00 I've been using Iron for a while now, but I keep getting blimmin sites which won't render properly. I blame the sites' designers of course, but am reluctantly going back to Chrome and Firefox. Greg (193)
1374607 2014-05-10 05:41:00 I hardly see the need for it. Half the "features" it has different are purely related to the installation, and the fact you simply installed a Chrome. It talks about privacy, but all it has is an Ad blocker, it doesn't block cookies etc by default... No I think they setup a lot of false pretenses and fail to live up to expectations. No idea what they have done with Iron, but I had the real chrome on here and almost every time it was used it was slow as hell , pages didn't display correctly and various other problems. It was completely removed from the system, as well as once a restore was run before it was even loaded, but it still was no good when reinstalling. Installed iron and its run damn near perfect ---- Why - I dunno, but hey, if it works use it. No way I'm putting up with a Browser that only works when it feels like it. ;) wainuitech (129)
1374609 2014-05-10 08:46:00 That's most likely a DNS issue... Chilling_Silence (9)
1374610 2014-05-10 11:36:00 That's most likely a DNS issue... ONLY on Chrome ? No other program that needs internet access has a problem. ( same thing happens on my sons PC as well) that's why he now mainly uses FF or IE. I did check in the router and theres nothing stopping / relating to chrome in any settings. Speed tests are fine at an average of 90-120Mbps. wainuitech (129)
