2014-05-10 00:50:00 | Hi all, I have had a very successful run using the above op system, with 2 gb Ram , ESET, Int Ex, FF, etc- no trouble as to speed or freezing, this, for several years. Some time recently I must have downloaded something, whether by "up dates" or not that may have caused this absolute stall after several minutes, I can regain access, but sometimes have to reboot, and that takes forever I housekeep every week using Spy bot, SuperantiSpyware, ESET scan, ccleaner and any upgrades pertaining to this set up are all successfully installed. Each week I get about 30 very low grade intrusions, which probably do not need worrying about, but in fact I correct even these, so as far as I am concerned I have a perfectly cleaned and repaired computer at anytime A while ago I stopped using FF as default browser in favour of Internet Explorer and many operations improved in performance, accordingly so is FF doing "silly beggars" again, or can someone assist? I intend using W 7 until W 9 comes out in say 2 years. Effie c

2014-05-10 02:18:00 | Three things to look at: 1. Download and run CrystalDiskInfo (crystalmark.info) - It will tell you the state of the HDD, it could be bad sectors causing the problem. 2. If the Drive is showing as OK, open eventvwr (Click Start- type it in the search) and see if theres any indication in the log files under system to whats happening ( errors etc) 3. Click start type in reliability Click on View Reliability History, when it opens look for any errors at the time of the freezing, if there are any by clicking on them may tell you what happened. ( unless its one of MS bright reports "System Froze ) - no kidding ;)

I am having the same thing happen with "Incomedia WebSite X5 Professional" on W7 Pro. Download "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" and see if it picks anything up. You could also try using Google Chrome Browser. | mzee (3324) | ||

2014-05-10 05:49:00 | Hi all, I hope wainui T and mzee as well as the rest of you, have given me the answer-- Wainui T, I found 20 errors following your guidelines, nothing else, so thank you for that Mzee I downloaded your suggestion=--- I used to use that before, but never found a thing, but this time I got 15 errors which after deleting required a re boot, and as such if nothing else was well worth it ---at the moment things are going well-----------------------I hope ( in the past things would only freeze after 15 minutes of use, even my CPU was using only 20 % and Ram about 40%) --so now I have to do another multiwindow effort in using Internet Ex as my default----( using a chess game called postcardchess to reply and against about 20 online games in action at one time,) which when I think about it was when NOT using FF. So my apologies to FF as a possible culprit :-) Smithie 38 I will look at your Iron Browser sometime Thanks again Effie c

2014-05-11 02:56:00 | Hi all, Update of Malware Have used this computer since the above debacle suggetions were applied ------with no stoppages or any fault-- and I suspect Mzee's suggestion was the answer although Wainui T idea produced 20 errors, so that too must help-- perhaps I won't have any trauma applicable to W 7 as I wait for W 9 ;-) All good thanks all Effie c
