1359314 2013-11-10 21:18:00 This is another poorly thought out biased report from the Herald. The headline should be "MP's are following the rules". Only government MPs are mentioned so Granny Herald have either ignored investigating opposition MP's or deliberately left them out of the story. You can rest assured that every MP is taking full advantage of everything they can. The whole bunch are just a very highly paid form of beneficary. The say whatever it takes to keep their snouts deep in the trough. CliveM (6007)

They are, indeed.

And the 'others' (labour, Greens) have been found to be doing similar dodgy things in the past.
Owning property in Welly & renting it to other MP's & vice versa, so they can claim various housing allowances & tax write offs .
Spending $1000+ (our money) on new curtains in very small rented apartments.
Claiming they deserve a yearly wage increase, as workers get annual wage increases when employed in the private sector (he actually said that)

You would think, given just much they get paid, they would/should be setting an example by doing the RIGHT THING, not squeezing the system for every last cent.

It's why I stopped going there about 12-18 months ago, it's full of that kind of crap, both in general, but specifically what annoyed me most was their IT-related fluff.

FTR it wouldn't matter which party you had voted for as both are just as bad given the opportunity.

1359320 2013-11-10 22:47:00 You can't use the word "ethics" in any sentence that involves elected public officials... johcar (6283)
1359321 2013-11-11 00:55:00 Are you guys angry that it is happening or that your own heads are not in this trough?

Would you, if you became MP's and were in the same situation as they are now, not take advantage of this legal process?
