| 1359709 | 2013-11-16 21:36:00 | So now the Greenies are trying to twist things and change from Global Warming, to Climate Change, to Pollution. Their credibility is shattered. (good link johcar) But for the records, when it comes to "Wonton Pollution" I’m with the majority and believe measures should be taken to curb it. For a start I believe that Council Rubbish Dumps, or Transfer Stations if you prefer, should be open seven days a week during daylight hours for you to dump your rubbish free of charge. That way disposal can be handled professionally. I know our Council charge like a wounded bull to dump rubbish and then moan like hell when people chuck their rubbish over a bank and Council has to clean it up. They should be encouraging people to take their rubbish to the Dump, not trying to fleece them. A few years ago where I live they used to have an inorganic rubbish collection once a year and you should have seen the amount of junk that was put out kerbside for collection. However, now they expect you to take it to the Dump yourself where they can then rip you off. Anyway, if the Councils were genuinely interested in curbing pollution that is somewhere for them to start. However, Wonton Pollution does not equal Global Warming or Climate Change. :angry The idea is to reduce the amount we dump, making it cheap and easy for people to dump rubbish encourages excess waste. If people have to pay for dumping they reduce their amount of waste quite rapidly. Naturally those who dump in inappropriate places must pay a fine of (say) 10 times the tip fees they would have incurred plus 1 day street and reserve cleaning for each Kg of waste. Purple and lime green uniforms for these new unpaid cleaners would help to enhance the effect. If subsequent offences involve a doubling of the penalty each time, certain areas might look considerably different. If you find it hard to get rid of waste, advise the supplier you are (eg) not taking foam packing with your goods. The supplier in his turn will advise his supplier until we get back to the original manufacturer of the goods who will be motivated to sort out his packing to enable him to continue to sell his goods. You could tell the chemist that foil packed tablets, in a bottle, in a box do not need him to put the box in a bag. |

I don't think many people would support or condone pollution, except some industrialists and dairy farmers, but in this 21st century you would expect aspiring politicians of the Craig ilk to at least have some modicum of scientific and mathematical literacy. Sunspots and circulating planets my bum.............:badpc:  |

I dont know how you can have that expectancy when the incumbent lot are no better. :crying In fact the incumbent lot have been sucked in by the Y2K Bug and numerous Pandemics as well as Global Warming. |

Presumably even their ministry advisors knew nothing about statistical sampling methods |

| 1359714 | 2013-11-17 05:49:00 | I should have said the 'start of Corngate', later, when they were advised more correctly, Hobbs changed her tune and belatedly realised that every seed would have to be tested to give 'zero tolerance'. Too late, she had revealed her ignorance. | Terry Porritt (14) | ||

Presumably even their ministry advisors knew nothing about statistical sampling methods Inland Revenue believes in destructively testing all their victims, and politicos talking nonsense is just protective camouflage for their work area. Inland Revenue's victims seem a bit dim too, not even realising that they are the employers of the infernal revenuers. |

Presumably even their ministry advisors knew nothing about statistical sampling methods No he's saying he doesn't believe in climate change... It looks like you're basically just as bad as the interviewer on Radio Live who seemed to have a personal vendetta against the poor bloke. Explain: Why should we believe in Global Warming when this planet already went through an "Ice Age" and survived (Proving that wild fluctuations in the earth occur, and that it by and large looks after itself). Because I'm just as skeptical as Colin at this point, and most of the forum members here. It just looks like another tax, with very little substance, to me. |

| 1359718 | 2013-11-17 17:11:00 | As I have said before "Climate Change" is the most stupid phrase I have ever heard of. It means nothing! I am also sick of seeing the same old video of that island in the Paciifc where they say that if the oceans rise a few more metres then it will disappear. |
