1358930 2013-11-07 02:34:00 im glad you countered open sourcing UNSUPPORTED software with the COST OF SUPPORTING IT

I countered with it because I've had the same argument thrown at me over the years.
So far the only way to breaking one companies dominance over people relying one any one operating system in the last 15 years that I've seen would be Apple's introduction of the original iPod/iTunes combo which became the iPhone/iPhone SDK running Microsoft Exchange which opened the door to a main stream consumer product being used in big business. That has pretty much levelled the playing field for anyone else to get on board with their device.

I'm aware that open source software has been around since the start of the 90's although it has never gained the same level of consumer acceptance that the iTunes/iOS SDK has.

You sure about that? I though anarchy happened...

If you don't have money you resort to a labour/trade for goods existance which would mean no more flashy toys, cars etc because you would be too busy completing basic labouring tasks to in exchange for the trade.

For the record power, rent and water bills don't pay for themselves out of thin air..

1358935 2013-11-07 07:57:00 At 400,000 people that's about 1/3 of Auckland's population. That's quite a shocking statistic after nearly 14 years.

So what? What is your point? Why should people always have to upgrade to the latest version of Windows just because Microsoft has released one? Do all Toyota car owners buy the latest Toyota just because it is in the car yard?

I still run Win XP on my main PC and the family PC. When I get around to upgrading the PC then I will get Windows 8.1 but the family PC can stay with XP for a while longer yet. It doesn't need anything else.

after you break in to kill him and he points you in the direction of his garden and asks if you need a hand with yours.

he questions if you missed the memo about the free gardens.

1358938 2013-11-07 12:31:00 all the trade embargos ended and the previously abjectly-impoverished areas of the globe are thriving and producing enough food to feed humanity Mirddes (10)
