They did wardriving so they could give you more accurate location using WiFi only without having to use GPS. Saves battery, locks on faster... Take off your tin foil hat for a minute mate, you'll see the world is a lot nicer. So Google at no point while wardriving, did anything like collecting all unencrypted data they wanted? Is that what you are saying? |

They logged what was being broadcast, if it was insecure and not password protected then the users were stupid. Go read about "Promiscuous Mode" and you can come back and thank me later for showing you how silly you're being. |
