1358740 2013-11-08 02:13:00 Why? Does it stop working if it doesn't get an upgrade from ICS? Chilling_Silence (9)
1358741 2013-11-08 02:15:00 Why? Does it stop working if it doesn't get an upgrade from ICS?Yep. I expect at least one update from all hardware I purchase plod (107)
1358742 2013-11-08 03:06:00 ICS was the most up-to-date Android available at the time of the One V's release. Jelly Bean was just a twinkle in Google's eye.

Feel free to go back to paying hundreds of dollars more for an Apple product, if that's your wish. :P

Does an equivalent Apple product cost hundreds of dollars more?
(I mean before the Android drops 200-300$ after a few months)

When was the iPhone 4 released?
It amazes me how it magically gets updates even 3 years later... :p

1358744 2013-11-08 03:47:00 Yeah that's why you pay a *premium* for it... You could by 4x HTC One V's for the same price :-/ Chilling_Silence (9)

I did say equivalent :)

Compared to, for instance, the Galaxy S; how are updates with that going along? Did it ever get ICE?
Shame the premium in this case doesn't mean the same thing...

Feel free to go back to paying hundreds of dollars more for an Apple product, if that's your wish. :Pthere was four months between jellybean and the release of the HTC oneV, it can't even run the latest version of ICS. And that's not because it's not capable hardware wise but because of HTC deciding not too. Stand by my point if you want a low end phone stay away from android. This house has had two low end windows phones that have both had updates. Yes I am an apple user, but definitely not a iPhone user. I have just dropped close to a grand on a android phone, so I fully expect it to get updates. And just to disprove your post, you can still buy name brand phones from major retailers still running 2.3, pretty sure 2.3 doesn't have access to the play store

Even 1.6 still has access... But I don't see your point? Some people are fine with buying a phone and having it work just as-is, it's not like it magically breaks because it's not getting an OS update. I mean look at Windows XP, it's still ticking along on a lot of PC's just fine, but you don't see people all upset because Microsoft didn't give them a free upgrade to Windows 8.1?
