1358576 2013-11-05 23:18:00 Extra points question:

Does the Australian Nexus 5 have the NZ 700mHz band built in?

I wouldn't want to buy a 4G phone that only had the 800 band...

What will you do with your 4 Jo?

Haven't really decided to upgrade just yet - the N4 is still a pretty sweet phone and will no doubt get the KitKat goodness in due course. The only real benefit as far as I can see is the 4G - not really a dealbreaker for me. I get pretty good reception and speeds with XT wherever I am anyway....

If I did upgrade, I would either give the N4 to my daughter or sell it on TradeMe...

But does it also have the 700 band (the important one for out-of-townies)?

The reason I asked was My Mem sahib seems to prefer the type that you turn a handle to make a call, I was hoping to pass on to here and have the latest, of which I use about 1% of its capacity.

Not the NZ (Asia Pacific ones) as there is no hardware to support it. Telecom was trailing the US 700 Meg band but it won't be used in the released product.. Guess you'll have to wait until the Nexus 6 for the AP 700 band.

All the more reason to hang onto my N4 then! :D

1358584 2013-11-06 22:46:00 Already got KitKat on my Nexus 4: forum.xda-developers.com

You do need to have a custom recovery though.

1358585 2013-11-07 03:08:00 Nice, that's a N5 port. There's also a few AOSP ports already running quite happily too (I think ParanoidAndroid did the first semi-decent one almost a week back now on Sat?) Chilling_Silence (9)
