1374769 2014-05-12 04:58:00 What this is basically saying is don't use the Metro app for POP3 - use something else. ;)

Or just don't use Metro, period. :p

1374771 2014-05-12 21:55:00 Anything that doesn't support IMAP in 2014 IMO is just a waste. Gmail and Outlook.com (Hotmail) are just fine

Outlook2013 has some definite issues with IMAP. MS dont care, why would they. They have there own system
Xtra/yahoo has no official support for IMAP , does work just fine though. Dont expect support if you have issues.

With IMAP, you need to keep on eye on the size of your mailbox on the ISP's server . If it gets over the mailbox size the ISP gives you, you email might stop receiving new
mail. This is because all your IMAP mail is stored on the ISP's mail servers, its just a copy thats downloaded onto your PC. (sort of)

POP3 works just fine for 75% of the NZ population.

for IMAP I just use the Windows Store Mail app rather than Outlook 2013

I doubt 75% of the population is still using POP3, POP3 is getting pretty antiquated now
