1359322 2013-11-11 02:40:00 Are you guys angry that it is happening or that your own heads are not in this trough?

Would you, if you became MP's and were in the same situation as they are now, not take advantage of this legal process?

In all probability most people would.

I belive that the sad fact of the matter is that there are a lot of politicians who start out with the belief that they are put on earth to save us all however they soon find out that the system does not operate like that and they quickly join their fellow politicians in the trough with very little resistance. Mostly they come across as a lot of sanctimonious hypocritical a**h*ls who think that the have all the answers. They do not! Fortunately we live in a democratic system and we get to vote them out if they get too arogant.

I didn't know you stuttered !

What, you mean we vote in another lot so they too can get to the trough, it seems to be self perpetuating.

1359325 2013-11-11 04:09:00 I'm sure something similar happened a few years ago with MPs electoral offices plod (107)

Yes, you are quite right that we can vote them out, but, whoever you're going to vote in will make no difference. At least, it's true in NZ's present political situation.

1359327 2013-11-11 06:32:00 The only significant difference between the parties is that one mob gives themselves knighthoods for doing this sort of stuff.

In the "good old days" they would have been supplied a hood that darkened things a lot before their lights went out properly.

1359328 2013-11-11 06:41:00 Well in defence of "Granny Herald", if indeed there is one, they did report the following.

Ok, it was “Letters to the Editor” but it made more sense than anything else they reported. :clap

Well said Kent Millar!

1359329 2013-11-11 08:08:00 Are you guys angry that it is happening ... - no, I'm angery because - "Prime Minister John Key said today the MPs needed to be "cut some slack'' over the property loophole because they were following the rules."

Well, all those god ol' boys from the Southern states were "following the rules" prior to the US civil war, but that didn't make it right.

No, I wouldn't. Believe it or not, but I have some ethics.
