Probably just crappy rush-job firmware.

Possibly, but then it would not have worked Ok for 2-3 years if there was a fundamental flaw. That said, I might see if it can be updated, but after making the fate-tempting statement that my other decoders were all OK, my Dish TV (in the manshed) dropped TV3 today (it is no longer on the list of channels or in the menu) and to watch the motor racing I had to use 3+1, so I'll give the Sanyo another chance. I've switched it off at the wall, and will do a fresh download of all channels tomorrow.

Maybe it just needs a wee rest!

Cheers

Hmm. I must have missed that bit. Perhaps some recent change to Freeview's internal workings has confused it?

1358511 2013-11-10 19:15:00 One of my decoders lost channels over the weekend, while the lounge one was fine. channel 3 being the channel gone, and some others, but never bothered to check what pages werent. if i have 1, 2, 3 and prime i dont care what else falls off.

a turn off and a re tune helped and we all good again, not pixelling or anything no loss of signal etc, just a channel or 2 gone burger........lol

1358512 2013-11-10 22:40:00 When they change things around mine likes to lose audio on the channels that have changed, a manual rescan fixes everything. Agent_24 (57)

Hmm.........

May have worked, there's a couple of spurious channels that have crept in to my usual list (Trackside, C4, etc) but I have sequential channel numbers again.

Long may it last, though I still have a factory reset up my sleeve.

Cheers

1358514 2013-11-19 08:57:00 Hi billy, just come across something similar. It turned out to be in setup, there is an on/off switch for LCN logical channel numbering. This May or may not help plod (107)

I don't have an LCN option but I think that is covered in the choice of manual or automatic tuning, there is a warning there that you need the correct digital channel numbers and frequencies etc..

The problem has disappeared at present, and it is holding up well following the overnight power down. It was a bit daft of me to overlook the fact that digital TVs are more computer + display than anything else, and the remedy for many random computer problems is a full 'power off' restart. I didn't even have to do a fresh download, it just started up with normal channels.
