if one person watches one video it is a huge success.

XP IS A BRILLIANT OPERATING SYSTEM THAT CAN ONLY GET BETTER WITH THE OPENING OF IT'S SOURCE

microsoft needs to realise opensource NT5.x will defeat linux once and for all.

1359012 2013-11-10 04:41:00 it probably wont happen but the more i repeat myself the hight the chances that a microsoft emplyee will blunder across my comments.

that and open source windows 9x would also be badass.

Will. Not. Happen.

Otherwise we'd already have the old MSDOS 6.2 and Windows 3.* versions open-sourced.

Your best bet for an open source Windows XP is ReactOS (http://reactos.org).

1359015 2013-11-10 07:07:00 Just because I'm a helpful chap.

Here is a starting point for the young and delusional.

If you turn up every day, keep your moth shut and your ears open, Work hard and concentrate on acquiring skills rather then knowing everything then in a decade you could be a supervisor, in two decades you could be in management.

If you have no plan, and are putting in no effort then chances are you have already peaked and its only downhill from here.

1359019 2013-11-10 20:29:00 with 1GB of ram and a new hdd or a 32GB ssd windows XP is pretty quick even on really old hardware .

With even less ram Win95 is blindingly fast on older hardware . Doesnt make it usable for Joe Average at home or at work .
Open source is also not practical at home or at work for 95% of PC users . I could possibly say the same about Win8 for many home users
who just bought a new PC from a toaster shop . If the home user has to get in a Tech to make a new PC usable then there is a problem with that OS .
If you have home users wanting Win7 rather than Win8 then MS has a problem .

But anywho, many of the XP PC's out there are a mess, often long expired AV, updates not installed, running like a dog & full of crapware/adware (needing a reload/cleanout) . When they get to that stage its really not economic to 'fix' them .
Saw 3 XP PC's in one small company on Fri, 2 were barely usable, the other usable but in need of alot of work to get it up to scratch . There was no way the owner/manager was going to pay for the time to fix up the 3 XP PC's, so they all stayed as is . :badpc: :badpc:

Sorry for drifting back on topic guys :)
