I assume you mean the laptop is dead and the HDD is fine? In which case why even take it to a shop at all? You can connect the drive up to your own machine easy enough, although you will probably need an adapter if it's IDE. |

Thanks everyone - it's not for me, it's for a previous client who's moved to Chch. The hard drive should be fine.
DeSade and Gary, thanks very much for the offers, in this case I think the client would prefer to go to an actual shop, but I'll certainly keep your offers in mind. |
