2013-11-01 10:01:00 | The Freeview channels on my office TV (Sanyo LED 24") keep changing their numeric designations. For example last time I recorded them (on paper for easy reference) they were in this order: Nos 1 through 4 brought up those actual channel numbers, 5 had no program, 6 = TV1+1, 7 = TV2+1, 8 = TV3+1 800 = Maori 801 = Prime 802 = Choice 803 = Sommet That was all pretty logical, but tonight when I switched on: TV1 = 800, which was previously Maori TV2 = 801, which was previously Prime....... TV3 is still 3 TV4 is still 4 TV1+1 = 802 (was Choice) TV2+1 = 803 (was Sommet) TV3+1 is still 8, and the following are all new channel numbers: Maori = 804 Prime = 805 Choice = 806 Sommet = 807 Upstairs in our bedroom (Samsung LED 24") channel selector numbers 1 through 8 follow consecutively through the the logical channel sequence 1,2,3,4, with Maori on 5 followed by the +1 channels, then 10 12 and 14 are Prime , Choice and Sommet, all logical, neat and tidy! It appears that on my office TV some channels are tied to a single or two digit numbers as for normal TV channel selection and others respond to the raw digital channel number. It is not a huge problem because the 'Favourites' list provides quick channel ID & selection (the numbers changed there as well), but it is a bit annoying when you have got used to one sequence then it all changes and you don't know what channel will come up next. It seems that this TV is shuffling the deck from time to time.........apart from that it works just fine. Anybody else seen this effect? Cheers Billy 8-{) :illogical

2013-11-01 17:35:00 | You need to do a delete all channels then re-scan on the Sanyo. No official Freeview channels should load on 800+ channel number assignments. On Friday 2 services were added, CH 16 - Al Jazeera CH 24 - Te Reo

2013-11-05 04:05:00 | Well, I auto-tuned all the channels and got my hopes up because it was presenting sequential single then double digit channel numbers. Things were looking good, so I went though and deleted all the channels I didn't want such as Parliament, Trackside, plus various Shopping and Asian channels etc, and it was ll downhill from there, we were straight back to nonsequential and raw three digit channel numbers. It has just finished scanning them all again, and this time I will just pick out favourites. There are 44 TV and 8 radio channels. If this doesn't work I'l be really pissed. When a half-arsed ultra-budget Freeview decoder can do all this automatically and remember channel numbers as well, I do have to wonder what Sanyo are all about. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2013-11-05 05:17:00 | Free view is a pain in the ..................... works well for a bit, then shuffles channels or loses channels sometimes has excellent picture, or sound and sometimes if you lucky it gets both lol we have great pics and no probs for a week or too then it all stuffs up and does stupid stuff, and if ya fiddle with it, it can do this for hours and then wallah it fixes itself for no reason at all? so often we turn it off and go do something else and when we come back its all ok........... :waughh: worst update idea ever to go from analogue to digital....... never had so many probs in my life time till this free view idea came in.:( hate it.

2013-11-05 09:30:00 | Well . . . . . . . . . . . . . It's fixed, for now! It turns out that the channel management system won't work if you actually delete unwanted channels, its tiny brain gets too confuzzled, so the only answer is to leave all detected channels in place and simply use a 'favourites' list . Dare to delete any channel on your 'never watch' list and it all turns to custard . This begs the question: Why have a 'delete unwatched channels' function, if it is going to cock-up all the wanted channel settings? but never mind, it all works and the 14 channels I want are alive and well, and the other 30 TV + 8 Radio are still available, just in case . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Cheers Billy 8-{) :waughh:

God Noooooo ... ... ... ... ... ... ..Don't do that ... ... ... ... ... .. Mrs T is the boss and she already has suspicions about the TV in my office. I installed it when we had three TVs upstairs and three people watching channels I didn't like. Now that the two kids are overseas we have TVs to spare, so one has moved to the Man Shed, and there's a tiny analogue left in the downstairs room that lacks a decoder. I must get one for that too, then I can walk around watching TV wherever Mrs T isn't at any given point in space and time. :D Cheers Billy 8-{) |

2013-11-08 07:35:00 | Well . . . . . . . . . . . . . It's fixed, for now! So, it lasted two whole days, and now my 'new' favourites list is scrambled all to hell, and I have most of my '800' numbers back, but attached to totally different channels, yet again . I suspect that it is automatically updating, which all three of our other TVs do, but they somehow manage to leave alone the natural order of things . I think I'll have to look for a 'channel lock' feature or disable auto updating as this is driving me mad! Cheers Billy 8-{)
