2004-11-24 20:25:00 This friend's laptop computer has developed a weird keyboard problem: all the keys in the right half don't work. The other half (left side) keys are working OK.

Anyone came across this weird keyboard problem?

2004-11-24 20:35:00 Is this laptop still under warranty? Sounds like a component failure. I don't know how servicable/replaceable laptop keyboards are, but can they plug in an external keyboard for the time being? Jen C (20)
2004-11-24 20:41:00 This friend is a Visitor for 2 months in NZ. Warranty has expired and she hasn't got an external usb keyboard with her. bk T (215)
2004-11-24 20:56:00 Laptop keyboards have a function (fn) key combination to select Num Lock and other things. If you look on the keyboard you'll see some characters in a different colour (often green or blue) on the keys. My guess is that Num Lock has been enabled by accident and you will just need to hold down the fn and num Lock keys to deselect it. flotus (6370)
