Do you have XP SP 2?

Also Zone alarm is a Good one, but search Press F1 as there have been a few threads on different firewalls different Press F1 members use :)

Hope this helps :)

295625 2004-11-24 01:25:00 I've always been happy with ZoneAlarm...

The free version can be a bit tricky to use with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) - so if you use that forget about it...

295626 2004-11-24 01:33:00 I dont like ANY of the current Windows Firewalls - They all appear to have some real weaknesses.

Zone Alarm was good up until late version 2.x

They got bought out by a few companies and in the end Microsoft have their hand in Zone Alarm - So I really dont trust it :-(

There's an Open-Source firewall for Doze, I'll try and locate it - Supposed to be good :-)

295628 2004-11-24 02:31:00 I use Sygate personal firewall. It does the trick although if you are relatively new to firewalls it probably isnt what you want as it has way to many options and alerts which will probably confuse you. If you know a bit about firewalls and computers you should be fine.

Its free to download (sygate.com I think) or just search for it.

Hope that helps.

295629 2004-11-24 04:32:00 I use Kerio with my Windows XP SP2 Laptop with no problems and on my W98 machine Zone Alarm also with no problems. Therefore in my opinion, both are good Smurf (506)
