295915 2004-11-24 09:28:00 Hi All

I have an AMD 1900+ system with XP Home, a DVD ROM as the D-drive and a CD RW as the E-drive also a Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 Expert TV card. All worked fine until SP2. After installing SP2 the TV card won't load the PVR (TV) function but will load the FM radio component. Uninstall SP2 and all works well. I was about to reinstall the whole OS but discovered an interesting fact. If I have ANY CD in the E-drive (just sitting there) then the WinFast system works 100%. I can take the CD out of the E-drive and the TV card continues to work fine. If I close down the TV AP with the E-drive empty then try to reload the TV app the TV app crashes again. Put a CD in the E-drive, close the TV app & then reopen the app and all works 100%?? Having a CD in the D-drive has no impact on the TV card function.

Probably a simple fix? Whose got the answer?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Brendon :)

295917 2004-11-24 09:37:00 I would try uninstalling the PVR software, and install the latest version. That should hopefully set thinks straight:) 4bes (2848)

Has simmular issues.

I have never tried/discovered the c/d thing.

295919 2004-11-24 09:44:00 Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. In fact if I try installing the latest app (after installing the latest TV card drivers) I get an error saying "File missing C:\WINDOWS\\WFCFG.dll please install" and the app doesn't work. I get this error even with SP2 uninstalled. So currently have latest TV card drivers, and SECOND latest version of the TV card app.

Thanks

Brendon

295920 2004-11-24 12:42:00 hi i have the same card nearly the same system as ures and pvr works no problems with sp2.must be a driver problem. ferrite (4221)
295921 2004-11-24 12:50:00 just to add.i reinstalled winfast after sp2 ferrite (4221)
295922 2004-11-24 23:19:00 Leave/put SP2 on there - download the latest drivers and PVR software.

In Device Manager remove every device with "Winfast" in the name under sound, video an game controllers and uninstall the PVR software under Add/Remove programs.

Reboot and XP should find the Winfast and ask to search for drivers - point it to the location of the downloaded and uncompressed drivers - once its setup install the PVR software and reboot again and everything should work.

I did have issues with my PVR software not working after SP2 but doing the above should sort it out...
