296570 2004-11-26 04:42:00 You should be able to make it auto-configure - (with XP) just make sure "Generic Host Process" is able to access the internet. HadO (796)
296571 2004-11-26 04:44:00 You also have to set permissions when each program asks for internet access - under the Program Control tab - it should pop up and ask you for access for a program when a program needs it and then you decide...

Post back with more info if you need to...

296572 2004-11-26 04:50:00 You have to make rules. I prefer to set any firewall to alert me to just about any activity when first installed. In that way you build up a repertoire of appropriate rules instead of relying on the firewalls assumptions. In this instance you would allow your browser to access port 80.

*Cough, shameless plug for alternative browsers coming up*

Obviously, and quiet rightly, ZA see IE as a threat to your systems security. To avoid this well intentioned and correct response, use a different browser like Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Safari, Konquerer.

Another thought is that something more evil than IE is attempting to use it to access the web. Check the ZA logs before permitting IE free reign.

296574 2004-11-26 05:11:00 Remember when the alert box pops up and its an ok prog to access the net to tick the box always remember this action or it will continually ask every time it opens this application,

while i only have alerts set to show when its something new attempting to connect to the net. - you cando this also when you happy with the settings, turn off alerts, and only have program alerts pop up.

other wise i think this is a good program.
