296532 2004-11-26 01:47:00 Hi,

I'm chucking a PC together for one of my collegues, and he has specifically asked for MS Photo Editor to be installed.

I have NO idea where to find this....any ideas?

I've just been told that MS discontinued Photo Editor for Office 2003.

Oh well....

There's some good free ones, Irfanview and XnView to name a couple.

Re Photo Editor, I had that on Office 97 but when I installed the Word program only from Office 97 onto my WinXP SP1 it didn't appear. Either its an optional part of Office, or you have to download the rest of Office as well.

It was a great wee program. Very easy to place your photos/pictures anywhere on a page. Good for doing a montage of photos and overlays. You didn't use word to do it. I really miss it, but will have to load either publisher or another part to get it to appear. Must see if I can get it going again as I have a lot of fun trying to fit astrology charts etc onto pages.

Good luck with it.

296536 2004-11-26 03:55:00 Yeah, its an optional part under the extra apps option.

Its still in the latest Office 2003 but its bloody useless, not nearly as good as in OfficeXP/2K!!

I agree, IrfanView rocks, but it cant do everything that MS Photo Editor could....

The Gimp is a good option!
