296118 2004-11-25 04:52:00 If it makes you feel better george - I've seen the gapless one too :O

I just picked a large thread (the XP SP2 experience one) to check, and yes, there was a gapless person!

No idea why. Can't say I even paid attention to the gaps (or lack of) before :p

Guess that blows Chill's theory on Windows being to blame ... sorry mate :D

I think metla has so far made the most pertinent post to this thread.

Nah, see, it knows that you once ran Winblows on it - Its revolting against you!!!!

Actually, Windows is _able to_ write to Track 0 on the HDD which a normal Format will skip over.

Ghost also does, which is how it "marks" the drive ready for Ghosting.

Even Active@Kill Disk doesnt wipe this part of the drive!!!!

Jen, take a torch and a mirror, place one each adjacent to each ear, with the shiny sides of both pointing in. Now, tilt the mirror slightly so that you can see it out the corner of your eye, ok, got it so far? good, well done :)

Now, this is the tricky bit, turn the torch on and see if you can see any light shining through the gap onto the mirror. You can, excellent, George, you've found yourself a playmate :D

You worry me sometimes Murray :D

BTW, the above instructions sound well practiced and you have them down to a fine art by the looks of it ... maybe you do see the gapless ones and just don't want to admit to it! :p

296125 2004-11-25 09:26:00 I have a hobby metla:

PressF1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111 :D:D

Sorry. I didn't mean that.

For those who think I'm being .... *can't find word* ...., just forget about it. I was merely curious as to what causes such a strange and seemingly random phenomena.

Bruce? Robo?

Cheers George
