| 296186 | 2004-11-25 08:49:00 | Hello all, Recently my PC has started to run a little slow after upgrading to Norton's Internet security-2004. Not that much of a problem, but on using the programme "Everest" from Lavalyst, the report on my PC shows that the RAM Usage has gone from 141Mb up to 256Mb & 0% free. I've run Spybot & Ad-aware, they show no problems, Anti virus (Norton's NIS 2004) is up to date and a scan finds no problem. When I check the PC immediately after startup 175Mb is used, 5 mins later 256Mb is used. Any ideas on where to start looking to find what is hogging the available Memory, or does Nortons usually use up all memory available? Running Win 98, 433Celeron, 256 Mb. 8.4 GbHd. (Yes, I know its time to upgrade, but she who must be obyed wants new curtains first!) |
