| 297083 | 2004-11-27 22:16:00 | Hi, I'm trying to use a ProFtpd on my FC3 box. I want all the allowed users to be able to have full privledges to read/write/do whatever. The default Umask in the config file is 022, what can I change this to, to allow this? Cheers |

| 297086 | 2004-11-28 01:46:00 | umask is XORed with 777 (this is octal ;-)) to give the protection bits assigned by default to any files which it applies to. So 022 --> 755 which is owner=rwe, group=r-e world=r-e. If you want full rights for everyone, you could change umask to 000, which will give 777, rwe rwe rwe . Are you sure you want to do this? The 022 is carefully selected as part of the system security. Particularly with FTP, which is usually dealing with the "World", you have to be very careful with what you let "world" do. |
