296613 2004-11-26 07:02:00 Cellphone customers are being warned of a website that offers free text messages but which has cost one man most of his credit balance.

296615 2004-11-26 07:22:00 Lol, i thought it 'looked to good to be true'
I got an inivatation from a mate a few days ago, thought it looked dodgy and that i'd wait a bit.
Anyway, within the next 2 days, had like another 30 inivtaions from all my other mates, and thought it must actually be ok.. but still thought i'd wait a abit, lucky i did...

296617 2004-11-27 08:46:00 I rang Vodafone, telling them about this thread and the links . Here is the reply sent to me via email:

>>thank you for that . just a quick questions do you have a phone number and name for the person that lost all the credit on his phone . if you have that would be good and then we can look into this further it is something that we are not aware of at the moment and if this is happening we would like to try an stop this form happening again .

So, if you have had problems being scammed, ring Vodafone and give them the details .

296618 2004-11-27 16:44:00 I know if true that this is a bad thing but I smell a rat (or something) here. Did anyone happen to see the name of the person quoted as executive vice president of the company as identified in the Herald article?
Mr Greg Wilfahrt?????????
That has got to make you wonder for a start.
But (good old google) it seems he is a real person

296620 2004-11-27 18:52:00 My friend picked up the problem early, and somehow didn't lose any credit out of the spam they sent him by cancelling early. somebody (208)
