296611 2004-11-26 05:20:00 I have Windows Server 2003 Datacentre - but unfortunately it (datacentre) has been stripped down to allow drivers to allow for other features to be added to the CD.

Unfortunately, this means that neither of my network cards, nor my sound card are detected by the computer. Thus rendering it useless.

My old copy of Server 2003 however, does have all these drivers and they are loaded along with windows into the system upon install.

My problem is how to use those to get the network cards to work under Datacentre. Unfortunately I do not have the desire to waste time finding out the model numbers and downloading drivers either - I'm sure there is a way to use the drivers that come with the other version.

I tried copying and extracting (separate occasions) the driver.cab file (which is a healthy 20 mb smaller on datacentre), to no avail (it contains not one .inf file).

Any help on this would be just perfect, thanks.

Enterprise version might be the best bet on smaller systems (If you want resource manager that is) .

I would suggest that in addition to unpacking the driver . cab that you grab the Windows\Inf folder to go with it . That should get the drivers you need . If you have a sound card with no driver support I have had sucess with merging in (first using the expand command) the XP SP2 drivers with the original driver . cab drivers (plus Windows\Inf) from XP .
