296987 2004-11-28 08:49:00 The point I was making, apart from going to the pictures, which sounds entertaining, was,if you consider a billion plus people turn there attention to Linux and if you consider that the Chinese have no desire to be subject to any Yanky monopoly, then I think Mr Gates needs to watch with great care.
I wonder if these words will be prophetic, time will tell.

296988 2004-11-28 19:02:00 With the amount of pirated Microsoft software floating around China (and most of Asia for that matter), I'd doubt that Bill Gates is making much money from those areas as it is. somebody (208)
296989 2004-11-28 19:18:00 Again, the point is that when A billion people turn there attention to Linux, they will develop to such an extent that it will rival M/S and then be available in the west. Thomas (1820)

This is already happening!! People seem to forget that the majority of web pages are delivered Linux systems. With Novell pushing SuSE things will happen.

My sister (a new computer user) recently had her WinME OS pack a sad. I reinstalled only to find she had lost her CD Key #s. I said - "lets try an experiment" and installed SuSE 9.1 Personal. She is now surfing the web, using Open Office, scanning images and using her new digital camera. In her own words - this is much better than the old one!

Despite what some people say - Linux is not too hard for beginners to use.
