297471 2004-11-28 22:19:00 How to change partition sizes with xp. I think I remember making something

like a dos entry to do this. That's about all I remember though?

All help appreciated,
Nodrog (4738)
297472 2004-11-28 22:23:00 You need something like Partitionmagic. Spacemannz (808)
297473 2004-11-28 22:30:00 If you're not worried about losing data on them and aren't needing to touch your System partition, use Computer Management from Control Panel > Administrative Tools Greg S (201)
297474 2004-11-28 23:02:00 If there is data on them you will need Partition Magic It have a neat utility which will resize your partitions without losing the data. theotherone (1421)
297475 2004-11-28 23:22:00 make sure you back up your important data, when i partitioned and resized my drive for linux i lost my win xp data, but i think that was my fault, but still be carefull and back up! Prescott (11)
297476 2004-11-28 23:52:00 and by that he means to back it up to a drive outside the machine (i.e. DVD-/+RW usb drive or CDR or another HDD other than the ones you want to work with. and you will need to have your system disks (o/s and all the other software just incase you lose it all and have to reinstall.
Best plan - make an image of your harddrive using NortonsGhost or some such (to another HDD) and then you can reload your HDD from there. Sound complicated? the PDF file for partition magic is about 180 pages long. However, when I did mine recently it went like a dream and without any glitches.
Good luck
