| 297261 | 2004-11-28 07:53:00 | If your NAV 2005 is part of Internet Security 2005, check out control panel/admin tools/services. Scroll down to Symantec proxy service, click on it and go to the general tab. Is it on Automatic, and started under service status?? Internet Security 2003, as I found out, had a prob with this Proxy service stopping. Which also stops u looking at sites. This may also apply to NIS 2005. If it has stopped, go to the recovery tab under proxy and change the top 3 to restart the service. Then go out of there / control panel. |

| 297266 | 2004-11-28 08:44:00 | Oh also this prob can also happen when you're infected with a worm . I fixed a mates PC a few weeks ago, when he had the same prob . He had the bagle/beagle AU/AW worm, which does just that . U can connect, but go nowhere . And it can install around 175 files (mostly exe/crack/sex files), on your system . Go to start/run and type msconfig . Go to the startup tab . Is there an entry called wingo . exe there by any chance?? If there is, this is the bagle worm . If it isnt post back here what appears under the startup tab in msconfig . |
