297658 2004-11-29 03:47:00 Hey,

Me and a mate just got our WLAN link between our two houses up and running. Its a 802.11g link. We get 20+mbps speeds between us (better alignement and new firmware will increase this).

What I was wondering is, is there a program that will allow me to stream TV or Video from my Video Capture Card (an Alcatel VideOH) over the network so he can watch it and vice versa?

Will our speeds be enough for this?

Thanks
Ash

Use it for both Server & Client :-)

297662 2004-11-29 10:01:00 I, too, recommend VideoLan - it even plays things other media players don't. Growly (6)
297663 2004-11-29 10:09:00 I find it a bummer though with dumping streams it wont playback concurrently....

gmplayer works nicely where vlc leaves off :-)

I find it brilliant being able to play dvd's from my linux desktop PC in one DVD-RW drive and stream it directly to the Family's PC in the House, while I watch a seperate DVD using my other DVD-RW :-)
