Whenever I receive a Word document or An Adobe document, they will not open. I get the following message "Word 2000 or Adobe reader 6 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." However when I save these documents on a floppy or whatever, I can open them. What have I done and how do I retify it please? Leo |

I forgot to mention that I use XP with SP2 installed and I use Outlook Express |

This could be caused by the security settings in XP. PDF files (because PDFs are "programmes") are regarded as executable. The default setting will stop them from being "run". The same probably applies to Word files which could contain macros. |
