| 297966 | 2004-12-01 03:12:00 | did it before....anyway i believe the patch is supposed to speed up the browsiing not necessarily the load time ? | drcspy (146) | ||
| 297967 | 2004-12-01 03:28:00 | yea didnt' seem to do much ay. Seriously why don't mozillo just make separate bloody versions optimised per os or whatever. | Kibito (623) | ||
| 297968 | 2004-12-01 03:53:00 | Download one of these (www.moox.ws). They are seriously awesome. Bah @ the normal Firefox. Optimised for your specific CPU's instruction set. I'm on a P4 so I use the Firefox M3 build. Some of you might want the Firefox M2 build if your CPU is a bit older. Then when you've found the build you want click the link that says: If you would prefer to use an M3 version of an official milestone or snapshot release, they are available here. and that will get you Firefox 1.0 optimised version. No installers though, you'll have to extract it from a zip file. |

| 297969 | 2004-12-01 04:13:00 | Mozilla was slow, Netscape was slow, Firefox is slow, they fixed this problem by loading partially the browser into memory by placing it in the System Tray (Quick Tray), Firefox has an extension to do the same called MinimizeToTray. If you don't mind the small memory usage, why not give it a go. People aren't recommending Firefox due to it's blistering speeds are they? They recommend it for it's added protection. MinimizeToTray would be my choice to speed up Firefox, so give it a go, you'll find it on mozdev.org. |
